The SAFA Women's Regional League is the third-tier South African women's association football league. An amateur league, it operates as a regional league with Local Football Associations (LFAs) overseeing their respective leagues. They are currently 52 regions across South Africa's nine provinces. Each LFA champion then competes in a single-location provincial SAFA Regional Championship. The top two teams of each regional championship are promoted to their provinces stream of the second-tier Sasol Women's League.

History

The SAFA Regional Women's League was originally launched in 2009 as the Absa Women's Regional League, in partnership with Absa Bank, in order to improve the South Africa women's national team's international performances.

The league is funded by the 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy Trust.

SAFA's nine provinces and 52 regions are as follows:

• SAFA Eastern Cape (Regions: Alfred Nzo, Amathole, Sarah Baartman, Chris Hani, Nelson Mandela Bay, OR Tambo, Joe Gqabi)
• SAFA Free State (Regions: Fezile Dabi, Lejweleputswa, Motheo, Thabo Mofutsanyana, Xhariep)
• SAFA Gauteng (Regions: Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, Metsweding, Sedibeng, Tshwane, West Rand)
• SAFA KwaZulu-Natal (Regions: Amajuba, Ethekwini, iLembe, Harry Gwala, Ugu, Umgungundlovu, Umkhanyakude, Umzinyathi, Uthukela, Uthungulu, Zululand)
• SAFA Mpumalanga (Regions: Ehlanzeni, Gert Sibande, Nkangala)
• SAFA Northern Cape (Regions: Frances Baard, Kgalagadi, Namakwa, Pixley-Ka-Seme, ZF Mgcawu)
• SAFA Limpopo (Regions: Capricorn, Mopani, Sekhukhune, Vhembe, Waterberg)
• SAFA North-West (Regions: Bojanala, Bophirima, Central, Southern)
• SAFA Western Cape (Regions: Boland, Cape Town, Central Karoo, Garden Route, Overberg, West Coast)
